Running Windows 8.1 and the smart taskbars on the secondary monitors are not transparent. Any way to fix that? FYI, had Windows 8 installed prior, same issue. Thanks.

I would recommend using the built-in multi-monitor taskbar instead, the Smart Taskbar isn't supported on Windows 8.
Let me know if you have a specific reason for using UltraMon's Smart Taskbar instead.

Well, that's really the only reason why I have been running UltraMon in the past, other than the Wallpaper feature that's pretty much all the functionality I was looking for and use (just upgraded to Win 8, been using UltraMon since XP). Have been using the smart taskbar for a few days now, it's been working without any issues except the minor transparency thing, and I can live with that if needs be. The reason why I would want to stick with the smart bar is that I also run Classic Shell primarily for the start button, and with the native Win 8 taskbar it puts a start button on every monitor while the smart bar does not (which is what I want).

I'll look into support for hiding the start button on secondary taskbars for a future release.

I second this. I don't like the multimonitor taskbar that microsoft has offered up in windows 8.1. Can we disable that all together and use Ultramon.

ok, I see you can now disable the win 8.1 taskbar on multimon. But, it is missing: right-click move option ignoring certain monitors
Ultramon's functionality is perfect.

The UltraMon menu commands are still available, but you'll need to press SHIFT when right-clicking the task button to get them.
Do you ignore monitors via UltraMon Options > Ignored Monitors, or did you just disable the taskbar for some monitors via UltraMon Options > Smart Taskbar > More Options?

Ok, I have ultramon's smart taskbar working on 8.1..I had to reinstall it. However, it does lack the transparency it had as described above. Please fix this, as your taskbar is much better than the Microsoft one. I tried to use the microsoft one, but I did not like it.

I have a small 8" monitor that I run to display PC guages like GPU and CPU loading, upcoming recordings on my tv server, Teamspeak 3 user list, etc. The task bar is not needed on this so I use the advanced ultramon options to ignore that monitor. After reinstall it all seems to be working good. Only thing missing seems to be the transparency. thanks.

OK, after playing with things a bit, and using your advice (shift click on a task bar icon to get ultramon menus on 8.1 stock taskbar) I could use the standard taskbar if the above could be fixed: - restrict startmenu (I am also using classic shell) to 1 monitor - have the ability to turn off the taskbar on monitors
I don't know if ultramon can exercise that amount of control over the Windows 8.1 taskbar, tho.
Sorry for the myriad of posts, but it doesn't seem that I can edit a post.
