I am looking at upgrading to a couple of LCD flat panels (1600x1200 res). I would very much like to run them using DVI, as all of the reviews I have read say the quality is significantly better than analog.

The question I have is what is the max res for a dual DVI setup? I have a PNY G4-4600 card right now (I know, its only single DVI). Can anyone out there with the Dual DVI 4600 card tell me what the max res is? There's no point in getting the big monitors if I cant run them at full DVI res...

If I buy these things, am I going to be stuck running them analog if I want 1600x1200?

thanks

the g4 4600 pushes a max res of like 2048Xsumthin-it is usually the monitor that limits resolution which in your case will be 1600X1200 max, so you will be able to run at tht resolution (both lcds) or you could run one at a lower res for a "zoom" effect also.

the 2048xsomething is a max ANALOG resolution. I dunno about the max DVI res, but it's a bit less always. I'm voting for somwehing like 1900x1200 (it's usually some strange res ;)

Most of the GF4 Ti cards have a max. DVI resolution of 1024/1280 (just read the specs of the manufacturers, some of some don`t tell, though). My Gainward XP750 has two DVI-I outputs. One of them definitely goes up to 1200/1600.According to gainward, the other one does, too. But I read a review, that said, the second one only goes up to 1024/1280.
