Well , I had that lock up issues and I finally just ran one stick of memory instead of 2 and that cleared up the lock ups. This board has that issue. BUT...I learned much more! I pulled the chipset heatsink, lapped it, and used actual heatsink compound rather then tape. I did this before doing the memory thing and I raised the temp of the lockups a ful 4 degrees to 53c.
Also, one big thing is to make sure that the fans that you do have (the 80mm ones especiall) are being used efficiently.
I couldn't believe it when I realized that my fans where being not only restricted by the metal on the case fan..but by the grate holding them in.
I cut out the grates completely form the case with a Dermel tool ...giving my fans 100% free air flow...brought my case temp down a full 4c !
