We just set up the following system:
Dell Latitude C840 Laptop
w/ p4 1.6g
nVidia GeForce 4 MX 440 GO Video 64MB Chipset
+ Dell C/Dock II Expansion Station
w/ Jaton GeForce2 MX PCI Card 32MB
Two 19in Sony G400 monitors connected to expansion station.
When traveling, one uses the 15in Ultra LCD Display of laptop.
When in office, one uses the 2 19in Sony monitors.
Flawless integration so far in terms of the video/monitor support.
One could technically exand desktop to LCD + 2 External monitors in this configuration, but we are not. Also allows for 2 additional RGB/S-Video outputs from laptop and PCI Video card.
I know of no other way to accomplish this. I have researched it extensively. Kudos to Dell and nVidia, IMHO.
