Hi,

I'm running dualies in linux off a GF4 using twinview and i was wondering if i could offset certain windows (like the login prompt, gnome load screen, etc). Is there some way to specify an xy offset value so they will all be centered in one window, right now theyre cut between the two.

Sorry if this seems really obvious, i've only had linux for a week (I was psycked when i got the mousewheel to work :-)

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks,
Jim

The easiest way to do it might be to switch to 'traditional' dual monitor system instead of the newer Xinerama. I'm not a SuSe user, but I've heard that Suse's Sax2 configuration tool has this as a simple menu option.

However, 'traditional' has its own disadvantages in that you can't drag windows between screens for instance.

Alternatively, newer window managers like the one included with KDE 3.0 are more aware of Xinerama and can remember window positions on most applications.
