When an application creates a new icon on the desktop, it appears on the leftmost monitor. Can I have new icons created on the center monitor?

Is the leftmost monitor set as primary? If yes, setting the center monitor as primary will most likely fix the issue. You can do this via UltraMon menu > Display Settings.

No. My center monitor is set as the primary. Incidentally, (1) the "Windows" splash logo appears on the left monitor during booting, and (2) in the settings, the left monitor has number 1 and the center monitor has number 2.
Do you think giving the center monitor number "1" in the setting will solve this issue? How do you change the number of the monitor in the settings?

I don't know if new icons will always get placed on the #1 monitor instead of the primary monitor, would be a bit odd though.
The only way to change monitor numbering would be to swap monitor cables.
