I'm using a GeForce4 MX 420 card with one VGA out and one S-Video out. I have the S-Video connected to my flat screen television. I'm using the extended desktop mode. 800x600 on monitor 1 and 800x600 on the TV.

The problem I'm getting is that the desktop does not extend to the top/bottom, left/right edges of the tv.
I know this is a known issue with tvs. Can't use
TV Tools because I need TwinView.

Just wondering if anyone out there knows of a proven method for getting the Windows desktop to fill the entire tv screen. I've tried several tech support people at various companies, but they all give me different answers. There must be a way. I've been told the Matrox G550 card will do this. Can someone confirm this? Not too many tvs out there with VGA in.

Thanks in advance- Hiroshi

Not sure on the Matrox cards, but I do know that there's a registry tweak for ATI cards to turn off the overscan on the TV output.

Buy a radeon. They have the ability to use different display settings for each display, as well as calibration tools built into the driver
