2 weird problems with my ATI Radeon 8500 in winXP:
1) this is my setup: ATI radeon 8500 with primary monitor 22inch Iiyama@1600*1200 connected to the analog VGA otput, secondary monitor 17inch@1024*768 connected to the DVI port (which is the 2nd output I presume)
Now when I reboot into XP, every time the taskbar sits on the 17inch monitor and the primary monitor shows a 1280*1024 resolution. (the reasson for this is that the 2nd monitor cannot go higher than 1280*1024)
Why is this? XP sees the 17inch as the primary monitor!
In windows98SE there are no problems whatsoever.
note: I am using adapted 'Omega' drivers because they use fixed refresh rates of 85Hz, which is very convienent.
2) the DVI output shows weird horizontal lines after a couple dozen minutes my PC is powered on. It's like there is some distortion when the videocard gets warm. I am using a Gigabyte 7VRXP motherbord. I heard some rumors that it could have something to do with that motherboard. Any-one can comfirm this?
