Is there a built in facility that would allow me to create a profile - for example set the resolution on both screens to a hotkey (ctrl-alt-1) and a second create a profile to a different resolution (ctrl-alt-2). I use a utility that does this currently, but it would be nice to uninstall this and keep within a single utility

You can do this with the RC1 release.
Once you have created the profiles, go to Options > Hotkeys, and add a 'Apply display profile' hotkey for each profile.
