I have a radeon8500 with the latest drivers and two CRTs. One -primary- on the DVI and another -secondary- on the DSUB. The Driver makes one virtual monitor with a resolution of 2304*864pixels out of them, so both run at a resolution of 1152*864 as they should. My Problem is that also Ultramon recognizes only one monitor and of course doesn't work. Is there a way to make win2k believe, that there are 2 monitors and not only one? Perhaps this problem hasn't appeared with older driver versions...

Unfortunately you're out of luck, ATI is the only remaining video card manufacturer who doesn't have Windows 2000 drivers with true multi-monitor support for their dualhead cards.

Cristian:
Are you saying the new 30.82 Detonators have true multi-monitor support? I have a VisonTek Xtasy MX440 dual-head and as of the 29.42 drivers there is still no true support in Win 2K. You still can't set resolutions independently and the taskbar runs the length of both displays. These limitations were confirmed with VisionTek tech support.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Thank you for the response. I guess I should have qualified my question by adding (without hacking the Registry). I may have to break down and try this. I surrendered and switched to Xp but would prefer to go back to Win2K.
Thanks again,
Dave

Thanks for your replies. I hope ATI will implement MM-support in future drivers...
