is it possible to have the system clock show on the secondary taskbar? any chance they'll be adding it if it's not already available?

You best is one of the shell replacement sites like deskmod.com. litestep and others have components you can load individually like task bars , clocks, etc. If you really get into it you can even create an entire windows shell to replace the standard shell ( many shell themes on site)
