I've been using UltraMon for quite a while with virtually no problems. However, I've never been able to get Flash 4 or 5 to run properly.
With both monitors activated Flash will lock up my system when it boots. With the secondary display disabled Flash loads and functions properly.
It's the only application on my system that manifests this problem, including other Macromedia applications.
Amyone else have this experience and/or thoughts on what causes it? I suspect some sort of video conflict, but it seems odd that this is the only application which acts thusly.
TIA.

If disabling the secondary monitor fixes the problem, it's most likely not related to UltraMon.
One thing you could check if you are using Windows 2000 or XP: download DisplayEnum.zip and run DisplayEnum.exe. This tool lists the load order of video drivers, both for real display adapters and virtual mirror drivers. Some applications have problems if a mirror driver is loaded before a real display driver.
Pre-RC1 releases caused problems with Macromedia Freehand, the application crashed during startup. See The application failed to initialize... for details.

Thanks Christian.
I was just curious to see if anyone else had experienced this behavior.
Inasmuch as Flash runs with the secondary disabled, and I don't use Flash too often, I'll likely not tinker with a system that, otherwise, works without any problems. :)
Regards.

hi,
had a similar problem with Dreamweaver UltraDev on another system, it was an old TNT card though.. eventually tracked it down to driver problems...
couldnt fix it replaced it with another display card instead.
