Forums -> Multiple monitors -> Radeon 9000 pro or GeForce 4 Ti 4200?

Does anyone have any experience with the Radeon 9000 pro or GeForce4 Ti 4200? I currently have a Matrox G450 and I'm not happy with the video performance(or lack there of) of the second monitor. I realize this is due to the slower second RAMDAC. I've read a lot of good things about the Radeon 9000 pro and I've seen benchmarks that show better 3D performance for the GeForce4 Ti. My understanding is that the ATI card has a better track record for dual display and 2D quality. But Nvidia has better 3D and better driver support. I currently don't game and I'm an animator working with Flash, After Effects and Director. But I'm looking to move to working with Lightwave. So, I guess my question is which card would be a better fit?

Thanks

I just purchases a Chaintech Geforce Ti4200SE. It's an amazing car, but for me. I'm a gamer so all I could tell you was a dual monitor setup was easy, and performance increase was high. Previously I had a Visiontech Geforce 2 MX400.

I typed up more info here
