So, you finally managed to span the icq-window to the secondary monitor and (in my case) it 'snaps' to the left of the right secondary monitor. However if ICQ is 'snaped' on the primary monitor it automatically adjusts itself horizontally and when maximizing programs they 'dock', leaving the icq-windows free for messages and stuff... this is not possible (as far as I know) on the secondary monitor.
Now to my questions: a) Anyone else have this problem and if so, any solotions/workaruonds???? b) How do we (as a multimonitor community) 'lobby' at mirabillis(ICQ) so that they fix the problem in the next version???

It's a common problem. If your secondary monitor is to the left of the primary it's even worse, there is NO way to move it there, it always snaps back to the primary.
In a post to microsoft...multi_monitor, Norman Brooks said he had asked ICQ about the problem and they said they didn't have a fix scheduled. Just keep sending them e-mails, hopefully they'll do the right thing...

Any updates on icq dual monitor issue. I heard in 99b you can hold down the ctrl key and move icq onto the second monitor and it will stick there, however, i have icq 2000b and it does not work at all with it, and you can no longer do the drag trick either.

The next beta of UltraMon will allow moving of the ICQ window (also the latest version).

hey,
i installed ultramon 2.0 beta 1 and it works perfectly with every program i have except icq2000a. It would not move icq to the 2nd monitor at all. The icq message boards are worthless, so i am hoping someone here might know how to fix this. I think the version of icq is very important, i used to be able to move icq99b to my second monitor, i guess i might consider going back to that version. I am running 2 monitors at work as well, so i will try installing ultramon 2.0 beta 1 there tonite and see if it works there. i am running icq2000b on that box. Anyway, thanks for the pointers.

Beta 1 doesn't support moving ICQ, but beta 2 will (to be released this Saturday).

I currently use an old version of ICQ (98a I think). I use ZMover to make it move to my secondary monitor. ZMover is a small app that sets window coordinates in the background. You can download the trial version at http://www.basta.com.

you can slide the icq to a second monitor if it´s not by the side of the primary one.. I have mine under it and it goes to it perfectly.. note: it will always expand in the primary.

The Radeon VE allows ICQ in either monitor, any location in W2K.

The Radeon lets you because it fools windows into thinking you've only got one desktop. (ie 1600*600 instead of 2 800*600's) Thats where the whole problem with the display sizes occurs.
I'd be extremely interested in finding a way to have ICQ run on a secondary monitor...
Peter.

That's where the problem runs in .... ???? What problem ?
Yes, the desktop (in my case) is 2048x768. But each individual monitor is set up 1024x76 with seperate refresh rates for each monitor. Yes they have to be the same size ie 800x600 or 1024x768 but that holds true for the nVidia also.
You can drag your TV to either monitor, drag ICQ to either monitor, have ICQ or your TV START UP in either monitor.
Problem ........que ?
