I have a matro Millenuam G400 Dualhead max card running two 19" monitors at 1280.

It is currently set to be one large 2560x1024 screen that spans both monitors (instead of two 1280x1024 stiched together) so that when system modal windows/msgboxes pop up they are int he center of this large virtual screen, and therefore the msgbox spans the gap between the screens.

Also when I maximise a window it covers both screens - I don't want it to! I want it to maximise to the minotr it's on, like it did when I have two seperate cards (PCI Diamond stealth 3d 3000 and AGP Voodoo 3d 2000)

How can I set it to center on screen1, instead of centering between screens?

Using independent displays mode instead of stretched mode will fix this. If you are using Windows 2000, support for independent displays mode needs to be enabled during driver setup.

you can also right click on the matrox in your systray and select multiple-display controls. from that menu you can select Use multi-dispay features and set it up from there. thats what i have done with my matrox g400.
