Forums -> Multiple monitors -> code 10 on pci card

I'm trying to get a second monitor setup in Windows2000. The primary card is an NVidia Riva TNT2 AGP. The pci card to be used as the secondary is an S3 Virge GX2\VX2. The device will not start. A code 10 is shown in device manager. The card is ok. I took out the Nvidia and tried the S3 alone and it worked fine. But when I have both installed, the S3 will not start.

Regard,
Pete

I have that problem too, I have an Abit KD7 and a Leadtek GF4 MX440, the second card is an S3trio64+, when win2k loads it finds the pci card but gives a code 10 error????

You'll need to make the PCI card primary in BIOS, see the FAQ for details.

I have already done that, and it boots on the pci card, but i have heard somethign about the 'leadtek effect' which is something about incompatibilities btween video cards, namely my leadtek mx440 and anthing else =[
