I recently picked up a few 4K screens to replace a few of my old 1080p screens. They take a while to take up from standby and this causes Windows 10 to detect them being disconnected and reconnected. As a result, the windows and taskbar move around.
Is there a tool that can ensure windows are not moved automatically, or detect they were moved automatically and automatically move them back? A tool that can ensure a given application always opens in the same place where it was when I last closed it?

Well, I found this thread:

which says UltraMon has some support for some of this...

The Save/RestoreWndPos scripts will do that, but you'll need to manually save window positions before standby and restore them afterwards. Might be easier to just prevent the monitors from going to standby.
