I need to set up dual monitors but with different resolutions (one needs to be 1600x1200 and the other can only do 1600x1024). I have an ATI Fire GL 8700, but it does not support two different resolutions under Windows 2000 and apparently not under XP either. I am planning to upgrade to XP.
ATI says they do not support a 2nd card for a THIRD monitor. However, does anyone know whether I can achieve my goal with a 2nd card for the 2nd monitor, under XP (or Win2K)? I have a 3Dlabs card that can support the 1600x1024 monitor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
