Forums -> Multiple monitors -> Linux: Two Screens, Two Desktops :-(

Hi,

I finally installed Linux on my main computer. I'm running Slackware 8.1 and updated XFree to 4.2.1.

My graphics cards are an ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500 and an Elsa Gladiac 511 (GF2MX 400, PCI and Dualhead). The Radeon is connected to a 19" CRT and the GF to two 17" CRT monitors. Arranged in the following positions (in X terms ;) )

Screen 0 "All-in-Wonder" 0 0
Screen 1 "GFMX-1" RightOf "Screen0"
Screen 2 "GFMX-2" RightOf "Screen0"

Now I have two questions:

1. How can I tell the GeForce to use both outputs so that I can arrange them in my preferred way?

2. How can I tell KDE 3.0 or XFree (??) to use all Screens as ONE desktop (ie. moving windows from one screen to another, only one KPanel ... well, just like in Windows ;) ?

Thank you for help
Misel
