It would be very useful to have access to the Start menu and system tray from a secondary monitor. Any programs started in that window would open there, etc. This would essentially provide a separate virtual terminal.

...Then all we'd need would be multiple mouse and keyboard support!!

I'm considering this for a future release, but can't guarantee that it will be implemented eventually.

The start menu is probably much more difficult to implement. How about just an option to add the sys-tray to one the extra taskbars?

I haven't done any planning yet for these two features, but they wouldn't necessarily be implemented together.

This would be a really nice feature to have. I have a nVidia GeForce2 MX card, and I connect the TV-out connector to a TV in a different room. I have a wireless mouse, so I have control of the computer from the TV room; however, w/o the start button on the secondary monitor, I have to start all my programs from the primary monitor in the computer room before I can use them on the second monitor.

I guess I could come up with a few work-arounds for this (such as getting a launcher & putting it on the second monitor or switching the primary display to the TV & moving the taskbar to that display). However I use some programs in my task tray to launch programs a lot of times... and the ability to have synchronized menus would really be awesome.

I could see how it could be really difficult to duplicate the task tray, but who knows? Maybe you can clone an instance of the explorer shell itself & put it in the second window.

Changing the primary monitor and moving the Windows taskbar can be done using a custom script, but will only work properly if the Smart Taskbar is disabled (otherwise the Windows taskbar will still show tasks from the other monitor).

Let me know if such a script would be useful to you.

For the mean time people, programs such as
SmartBarXP - www.smartbarxp.com
Codename: Dashboard - Cant remember website

Anyway these applications mimic, a vertical taskbar, with many additional options but at the crux of it, it smartbarXP has system tray option, and startbutton options.

It cannot be implemented for horizontal use but it can be a very productive and efficient tool

Anyway might be worth a look for some of you, depending on my customization settings I find it can be a very pleasent looking and very productve little app :)

I would also very much vote for this feature. In my view this is the one thing missing in Ultramon! After all, it was a "Start menu on each monitor" and not a "Taskbar on each monitor" feature that made me look for a software like Ultramon in the first place.
