After my system wakes up fromn it's screensaver by desktop is blank. I have to open UltraMon - select another wallpare, click apply, then select the original and click ok to get it back.
Is this a feature that goes away when I register the product?

Do you have this problem with all screen savers? Please try if you have the same problem when using a standard Windows screen saver, for example Beziers.
The trial version is identical to the full version except for the 30-day trial period.

Do you have another wallpaper manager running which might change the wallpaper, for example Webshots or a virtual desktop manager (nView, MSVDM, ...)?
To see the currently active wallpaper bitmap, take a look at Display Properties > Desktop. UltraMon wallpaper bitmaps would be listed at the bottom, for example Default.
Or are you using images for the wallpaper which are on a network share? If UltraMon recreates the wallpaper, and the share hasn't been mapped yet, you would get a blank wallpaper (background color only).

1. No
2. This part behaves as you note.
3. Local image, jpg, 3200x1536

So the UltraMon wallpaper bitmap is still set as the desktop background, but the bitmap is blank (background color only)?
Unfortunately I have no idea why this would happen if the images are always accessible.
BTW, make sure you are using the latest version, 2.1, there was a bug once which might cause problems similar to what you're experiencing.

RESOLUTION!
When you suggested that there might be something running in the background - it made me start looking since Hydravision was at one time running on this machine (I uninstalled it) - Well that was not enough - two more ATI apps were being loaded through HKLM/Run - Ati2mdxx.exe and atiptaxx.exe - when I disabled these in the resgistry and rebooted, my problem went away. Thanks for your suggestions and help!
:)
