I am finding when running Ultramon V 2.1 on XP Pro that I am closing down programs and Ultramon is leaving the tab on the taskbar. This is especially bad with Outlook XP.

I'm seeing a similar issue. Today it happened with Error Reporting - IE crashed, the Error Report dialog opened with a button. When I clicked More Information, a new IE opened with information about the crash, but the Error Reporting button on the second monitor taskbar didn't go away, though the dialog did.
I used add/remove first monitor to refresh - maybe the right-click menu needs a refresh option?

Please let me know what other background applications are running. You can get the list of background applications by running msconfig.exe and taking a look at the Startup tab.
To quickly restart the UltraMon taskbar, go to Options > Customization and enable the optional menu command 'disable/enable the Smart Taskbar'. You can then quickly disable and re-enable the UltraMon taskbar from the menu.

I'm having same problem:
I was configuring Kinemorphic 3D screen saver and Hypnogenic 3D screen saver, and after closing down the tasks was still there!
Observe that this behaviour is only in the Ultramon taskbar on the second monitor, and not on the "real" taskbar.
I am running 2003 Server (standard) with XP themes enabled. P4 1.8gig, 1gb RDRAM, Radeon 9000 128mb ddr
Startup Tab programs running: atiptaxx shstat winampa dumprep 0-u netfxupdate msmsgs Adobe Gamma Loader Cisco Systems VPN Client Microsoft Office Service Manager Ultramon Check for Dope Wars Updates

Does this happen every time or only occasionally?
So far I haven't been able to reproduce this issue. I opened the Hypnogenic configuration dialog, moved it to a monitor with an UltraMon taskbar, then clicked on OK to close the configuration dialog.
