I have several programs: Adobe Premier, Microsoft Media Player, and Quicktime, that will "take over" the second monitor. Premier uses it for the clip monitor, Media Player and Quicktime use it for a full screen view of the clip (although in Quicktime, it's garbled).
Is there a way to control this? I don't want Premire to use the second monitor (I want to run other programs on the second monitor) and I don't want Media Player to show on the second monitor unless I want it to.
Suggestions?

Looks like you have video mirroring enabled in the video card drivers. Disabling it will fix this problem.
If you are using an Nvidia card, look for a setting called Video Mirroring under Nvidia Properties > Overlay Controls, for Matrox cards this feature is called DVDMax/PureVideo.

That did it. Thanks! I'd never noticed the small, light colored text "full screen display" on the box.
