At the beginning of the second half I acquired a new ThinkPad T480, and was only much later did I install UltraMon.
Despite the shortcut existing at C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\UltraMon.lnk , UltraMon does not launch on signing into Windows.
Any other configuration step missing?

Automatic startup can also be disabled in the registry, to check for this run regedit.exe and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtime Soft\UltraMon\<version>, then check what the AutoStart value is set to.

AutoStart is set to 1 (which should be the enabled bit)
Or should I insert an entry into HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run rather than rely on the Startup menu folder?

Well, yea, the Registry method seems to work.

Glad to hear that works, not sure why the shortcut in the startup folder wouldn't.
