Just purchased a 49" ultra wide monitor. Can Ultramon manage multiple windows inside one large monitor or only individual monitors as identified in the Display Settings?

UltraMon can't do this, but SplitView might be worth a try.

FancyZones in PowerToys will do the basically the same thing but I will check it out. Thanks!
