I have just installed a radeon 8500 and have tried to get two monitors running, 1 is in the vga slot and one is in the dvi slot using a dvi to vga converter. All I get is the same display on both monitors - windows xp only seems to recognise that there is one monitor connected ive tried everything possible in the display settings. How do i get xp to realise i have 2 monitors in the radeon? /how can i get them to stop showing the same thing?

Did you try turning off mirroring?

try going to display settings by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting the settings-tab then click on monitor 2 and in the lower left corner check the checkbox "expand my desktop to this monitor"
this should fix your problems
