I have just bought a new computer and moved my G450 from my old machine in it. I was hoping to use the onboard graphics card to run a 3rd monitor but it seems that the bios doesn't like that idea. So therefore I am left with adding a PCI card to run a 3rd screen.
My G450 happily runs my main 21" Sony at 1600 x 1200 at 75MHz (I wish it were 85MHz) and a 17" Mag at 1024 x 768 at a more comfortably 85 MHz. This system runs perfectly. The question is that if I want to run another 17" at 1024 x 768 which PCI card should I go for that will work seemlessly with my G450? Or am I better off getting a better card for my 21" that can run a higher frequency and then use my G450 for running the 2 17" monitors?
I suppose my final question is will two cards affect what I can w/r to maximising different windows on different screens?

You can easily use a PCI G4 or 5 series card for a 3rd or 4th Screen.
I have found this very easy to set up. I have taken this set up off my main workstation though as every 3-4 days (system runs 24/7) everything would lock up and need a restart.
It worked fine though for most of the time and could easily do a days work without any problems.
Hope this helps

Hi! I also have a G450 dualhead card, but i can't seem to make it work with ultramon on WIN2K. How do you do this?

I am having the same issue. My two monitors appear as one large monitor and I haven't been able to fix it. I have a Matrox Millennium G450 DVI card. Any suggestions?
