I have recently taken delivery of a ELSA Synergy III which sports an NVidia Quadro MXR processor with Twinview - the Quadro is basically a professional version of the gamer's Geforce. I was using the card with two Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 920 monitors and have had no end of trouble getting the display to stay at 2560x1024 between reboots - with the resolution slider in Display settings offering me a maximum of 1600x600 after rebooting.
After two-and-a-half days I have discovered that the problem lies in a conflict with Mitsubishi's monitor driver. It seems that both the Nvidia drivers and the monitor driver describe lists of available resolutions, and Windows 2000 uses both of these lists to determine a list of settings for the resolution slider.
Now I'm using the Default Monitor driver that comes with Windows 2000 and I'm having no problems at all - and infact Twinview seems very good.
Hope this is useful to somebody
