Hi folks,

I just purchased the Margi Display-to-Go CardBus card for my laptop after being assured by their salespeople that it is hot-pluggable. First time I installed it, I tried it out - Go to Unplug/Eject, try to stop the card, no luck-- "The device 'MARGI Systems Display-to-Go 4Mb' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later."

If I forcefully unplug the card, the system is stable, but when I plug it back in - BLUE SCREEN.

Has anybody else had luck with hot-plugging this card?

Stats:
Thinkpad T30
Windows 2000 SP3 (they don't support SP4, had to roll back)
Driver version v2.15.157

I am disabling the display, and even unplugging the cable before I try to stop the device, with no luck.

Hey Christian,

In a previous message you said you have this card-- what is your hot-plug experience with it?

Doesn't work on Windows 2000/XP, works fine on Windows 98/Me though.

The problem seems to be that Windows 2000/XP can't disable a video card without rebooting (this is not the same as disabling the monitor in Display Properties).

If a future release of Windows would support disabling video cards without requiring a reboot, it should then work fine.
