Hi group
I have just started to set up a three monitor system and thought I could need some recommendation for before I bought two graphic cards.

I have a MSI KT2 Combo mainboard with a Athlon xp tb 2000 CPU with 760 MB of SDRAM 133.

I just bought 3 Samsung SyncMaster 19 1T LCD`s
I was planning to buy 2 Sapphire gr. cards.
-Pri. AGP: Radeon 9600 pro ultimate edition.

-Sec. PCI: Atlantis Radeon 9000
http://www.sapphiretech.com/9000/9000-192.htm

My priority for selecting Radeon 9600 pro ultimate edition was that it dont have a fan; it is completely silent. Beside it is a fairly reasonably priced solution.

The only thing that bugs me is that it do not have dual DVI`s.
The LCD`s are coming with both vga and DVI ports.
Do I loose much Image quality or have poorer response time using on the monitor that are plugged to the vga port??

I am going to use this setup mainly for:
Rhino 3D (www.rhino3d.com)

Also a little bit of 3D Studio and Photoshop
------

Is this a good and problem free setup, or would it perhaps be better to use Gforce FX or something else???

Cheers Victor

Victor,

I have made this recommendation a number of times.

Check out the Asus V9520 Video Suite available at NewEgg.com. Based on the nVidia FX5200 chipset, it has dual DVI out, 128MB and a 400Mhz RAMDAC and 400Mhz core clock. This will support all the 2d and most of the 3d you could throw at it. And for $118.99 US, you can't beat the price.

If you need something with a little more punch, try the Asus V9560 Video Suite. This one uses the FX5600 engine and has a 600Mhz core clock and also has Dual DVI. At $189.99 US, still not to bad.

Both of these have a fan on board and mine is silent. Once the side of the case is closed, you can't hear it.

My base card is the Gainward GeForce4 Ti4600 750 Ultra Golden Sample. The Asus V9520 was purchased as a backup. I have used them both and I can't tell the difference (except that I paid $346.00 for the Gainward about a year and a half ago)!

Good luck!

Barton
