anyone know how i can change which monitor is number one, and which is number 2?

In Windows (at least 2000), there is a setting called "use this device as my primary monitor". See if that helps. You can also swap cables.
Also, what are you trying to achieve by changing the number? Maybe it can be achieved another way.
If you want to change position, just drag the monitors around in Windows Display Properties.

As far as I'm aware the numbers are assigned in the order that the OS detected the monitors. This is generally the first PCI card the BIOS finds, followed by the AGP card and then a second PCI card but don't quote on that (although the card that shows the BIOS is always display one (except where you have two outputs on one card where it's anyones guess)).
And to answer your question I'm aware of no way of changing it.
