i'm running a 15" and a 17", the fifteen stacked atop the 17". i thought i saw a setting in the nvidia nview panel to allow vertical window spanning, but I cant seem to find it. Can anybody clue me in as to where this is? i'd like to be able to drag my windows vertically from the bottom screen to the top screen, not off and on one side :(

This is easily accomplished if you have the latest drivers installed for your card and if your card supports nView (MX, GeForceTi and FX series do).

First, disable one of your monitors in the display settings. Next, on the remaining active monitor, select the "Advanced" button on the "Settings" tab and then select the tab for your card (i.e.; GeForce Ti4600) and then click the "nView" option from the side menu that pops out. You can then select horizontal or vertical spanning. Remember, in the nView mode, you cannot have independent resolutions on the monitors.

Good Luck!

You can also change the monitor arrangement in Display Properties, just grab the second monitor with the mouse and move it on top of the primary.

Duh! That's a good solution as well. Nothing like forgetting about the obvious.

thank you both for the prompt replies. :) I got it working now, i set it up that way because I just got an msi tv tuner card, so now i can rot my brain with internet porn and cable television simultaneously. I'll be a complete moron within a week ;) again, thank you :)

I just got a LeadTek WinFast TV2000XP Deluxe TV/FM/vid-cap card, which seems to work very nicely, but I still have my two 17" monitors next to each other.
