running win98 i can't enable my second monitor. when i boot up i get the "if you can read this message, windows has successfully initialised this display adapter" however when i enable it in display settings and it apply the secondary monitor briefly flickers and then returns to the initialised message. the second 15" monitor is running off a trident 3dimage 9750 pci 2mb card.
is there anyway to fix this or am i wasting my time?

Read this and see if it will help. Not sure if your running a ATI card or not, but this solved my problem when I used to run Win98 with an ATI card.
