This could solve a big problem for us. We have a system with a primary video card with one monitor. A second monitor is attached to a Decklink ( http://www.decklink.com/) card which has a video output. WinXP sees this Decklink card as a second monitor. Here's the problem - we want to display photoshop in full screen mode on the Decklink. However, on Windows the photoshop canvas (artwork) can only be in the window that has the menu bar. While photoshop has many pallets that can be placed anywhere on any screen, the artwork must be in the main application window. Will Ultra Mon allow me to make the main photoshop application window be the second monitor (decklink card)? Also, can I specify that this only happens with photoshop? The ultramon website would seem to suggest that all of the above would work - but are there any gotchas ?

Thanks in advance

Which version of Photoshop are you using? I just tested with Photoshop 7 on Windows XP, and you can go into fullscreen mode without menu bar on both primary and secondary monitors.

I also tested if you could move a fullscreen Photoshop window to a different monitor using UltraMon, but this doesn't work correctly. The window gets moved, but Photoshop then switches from fullscreen mode back to standard mode.

Christian,
Thanks for the quick response!
Yes, we would be using photoshop 7 (and in the future photoshop CS). I'm not sure if I totally understand your post. When you said: "I just tested with Photoshop 7 on Windows XP, and you can go into fullscreen mode without menu bar on both primary and secondary monitors" Did you mean that you tested it with Ultra Mon? In other words, Ultra Mon allowed you to go into full screen mode on the second monitor?

Also, in response to the second part of your post: we don't really need the ability to move the application while it is in full screen mode. What we really just need is the ability to put photoshop in full screen mode on the second monitor only (the decklink monitor).

So I guess my question is, did you find that you needed Ultra Mon to be able to put photoshop in full screen mode on a second monitor?

Also, what would happen if the second monitor (the decklink) has a lower resolution than the primary monitor. Since the decklink is a video out card only it has a fixed resolution of 720x486. Do you know what will happen if you move photoshop to that video card Will it resize the application window correctly?

Thanks again for your help!

I didn't need UltraMon for this, moving Photoshop to the secondary monitor manually and then changing to fullscreen mode worked fine.

The primary monitor was using 1024x768, the secondary 800x600, this didn't seem to cause any problems.
