Hi,
I'm using my Ti4200 whith two LG Flatron L1710S LCD monitors (VGA input only). Using AOpen 31.40a display drivers everything its OK, but when I've tried to update my drivers to 44.03, 45.23 or 52.16 version, the monitor over the DVI to VGA adaptor is NOT detected by windows XP. The computer starts normaly, in clone mode, but in windows (display properties) appears only one monitor.
No matter if I use AOpen propietary or nVidia generic drivers. Even if I use only the monitor which is plugged over the adaptor, its not detected by XP and appears blank, whith no signal.
Any ideas on this problem?
Thanks in advance

The problems is you're not installing the correct drivers. 44.03, 45.23 and 52.16 are for "FX" series boards. The last WHQL certified driver set for the "Ti" series cards was 40.72 (this is assuming that your using XP/2000 OS).

By trying all these drivers, you probably won't be able to install the 40.72 drivers correctly. There will be left over "junk" even after you un-install the old drivers.

Start with a clean install of Windows. Install the 40.72 drivers and make sure it works. If it does, install the latest windows updates and then use "Norton Ghost" to make a an image of your system. Remember, Ghost can only write to a 'FAT32' partition. If you have "Powerquest Drive Image," you can write to a NTFS partition. On either one, you cannot write to the same partition that you're making an image of.

I didn't know that. I thought the newer drivers were for all GeForce cards. Where did you find that out?

The only problem I've had on my Ti4200 with drivers newer than 41.09 is that the screens are blank after coming out of hibernate mode. I'm running 45.23 now, and was about to upgrade to 52.16.

I'm also running 45.23 at work, on some older 32.Meg Nvidia cards with no problems.

Follow-up: I just updated my Ti4200 driver to 52.16, but I haven't tried Hibernate mode yet. I'm not holding out much hope for Hibernate mode.

Barton, I've tried to install 40.72 WHQL drivers (with a clean install), but the results are the same: the computer starts correctly, in clone mode, but when windows XP starts its graphical mode the TFT which is connected to the DVI to VGA converter becomes blank (power save), so windows can't detect it.
I think that isn't an especific problem of my card: all GF4 with a DVI and VGA outputs do the same with the recognition of a TFT over an adapter.
Anyway I can use 31.40 drivers... so is not so bad.
Thank you very much for your try.

Well, I've installed nVidia's 53.03 WHQL driver and everything is right now...
Strange question, so seems that every driver makes a diferent monitor detection over the same card...
Anyway, my problem is now solved.
