Hiya, I been looking allover for a way to play a DX8/9game on my CRT while being able to read Webpages etc on my TFT.
Your program seems to be the best so far, very impressive but...
When I run f ex Dark Age Of Camelot as a fullscreen application it defaults to 75Hz even though I specify 85Hz in the shortcut for Fullscreen. (I know this option is viable as I used it when my CRT was the only monitor) I have corrected the Refreshrates with Reforce which I also used before with good results.
My TFT chugs along happily at 60Hz.
When i try to set other resolutions and refreshrates lower than 75 Ultramon complies, it seems only when I try any resolution w refresh above 75Hz, that it locks it at 75. (Very much like W2k usually does w 60Hz.)
Is there a hidden refreshratelimiter in Ultramon?
Secondly, is there no other way to make DX9 display the game on the secondary monitor other than making it the primary while playing? Ideally I'd like to specify certain Frameratedependent games and my Movie Overlays run on the CRT(secondary) (due to the higher Refresh) while all standard stuff should happen on the TFT as Primary. (Movies and stuff work perfect already it's just the games that are the problem.)
Hope you can explain these things to me so I can really use your program as it seems pretty much exactly what I've been looking for (bar these things)
Cheers, Horza

UltraMon doesn't limit the available refresh rates, you should have the same refresh rates listed as under Windows Display Properties > Advanced > Monitor.
Let me know if that's not the case.
Regarding the second issue: the problem is that UltraMon can't move games to a different monitor, and most games will only run on the primary monitor and don't support monitor selection.

Ok, I had hoped there might be a way of persuading DX9 much the same way as the Video Overlay is done.
When i check the displaysettings for my sacondary I can select any refreshrate up to 160 (640x480) and 75 for 1600x1200. And in the desktop the refreshrates seem to hold true, the behaviour is only seen in DXgames.
I have been looking around different sources and found mentions of a 75Hz limitation specific for Games in XP. Now I know I run W2k but maybe that's it? However most sources state that Reforce should correct this the same way as the W2k 60HzBug...
Another thought I had was that maybe the game "inherits" the old Refreshrate when starting DX and changing resolution? I normally run 1600x1200 in /5Hz on my secondary and when I run the game in 1280x1024 I should get 85Hz...Could it be that the refreshrate stays put even though the resolution is changed?
I occasionally noticed that the secondary monitor (if momentarily selected primary while gaming) does not revert to 2nd when leaving the game even though I marked that special selection. Also when I have stated a certain Refreshrate in the Ultramon-fullscreen tab of a shortcut, it seems my MonitorINI for my secondary is corrupted and is renamed to a single space. Then I have to reinstall the INI again. Maybe this can be the problem?

Update: I have now also experienced Texturecorruption in DAOC when having Ultramon active. When I uninstalled Ultramon the graphics worked as they should...i got some pictures if you need it. I'll gladly help solving these problems just tell me what to do.

UltraMon can't force a game to use a specific refresh rate, the game can still change to any display resolution and/or refresh rate it wants.
Not sure why there would be a problem with the monitor .inf file, UltraMon doesn't use this file directly.
Regarding the issue with Dark Age Of Camelot: try if disabling automatic wallpaper refreshing fixes the problem.
To do this, select Wallpaper from the UltraMon menu, select the Options tab, then uncheck 'adjust wallpaper when display configuration changes'.
