Hey,

first of all, congrats at ultramon, awesome!
now, I use windows xp remote desktop protocol a lot, and, everytime I use it from work to my personal computer at home (with ultramon), the desktop icons position get screwed (becouse of the screen resolution) and UltraMon can't restore the old position when they where in multi-monitor..

TIA

Thanks for the feedback.

Did you try manually restoring the position of the icons using Desktop Icons > Restore Position from the UltraMon menu?

UltraMon currently doesn't automatically restore desktop icons when the display resolution is changed, mainly because it doesn't store separate positions for each display configuration.

Hey,

Yes, I tried to manually restore the positions, but doesn't change.. It seems that UltraMon is automaticly saving the positions when windows change them... I know it sounds wierd, but it is what looks like...

Try if disabling automatic icon positioning fixes the problem. To do this, go to Options > General and uncheck 'preserve position of desktop icons'.

The problem is most likely that when the remote session is ended, UltraMon quits and saves icon positions. The next time you login locally, the saved icon positions from the remote session are used.

I'm planning to add support for multiple icon configurations in UltraMon 3, this would fix this problem.

Yes, it's working fine :)
Now I just can't wait for the new version and hoping that the bars of windows (quickbar, address, etc) can be dockable with the TaskBar :)

tnx again
