Forums -> Multiple monitors -> Utility to manually put monitor in standby mode?

Hi all,

I run a dual-display system (a monitor and an 80cm TV, actually), and was wondering if anyone knows of a utility to manually force a monitor in and out of power-save mode (as occurs when power-save screensaver options are enabled).

Currently, I just run a plain black powerpoint slideshow, but this takes up a lot of memory, and it always goes to the primary display, so there's a lot of mucking about involved.

Basically, I just want to be able to click to turn the secondary display off, then back on again later (and yes, I know I could use the power button, but that's making things too simple, plus I'm lazy :-)

Of course, as an end result, what I'm really looking for is just a blank screen, so any other approaches would be most welcome.

Thanks.

Make up a dual-monitor wallpaper, and make the wallpaper for the second screen black. Of just don't use any wallpaper, and make your background black for both monitors.
