Hello all! I just added a second monitor, and I am now experiencing some random lockups. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. I am running:
HP Pavilion 6635, 533mhz 256mb ram, win 98
Orig card: Intel 810 Chipset Graphics Driver PV2.1
New card: NVIDIA Riva TNT2 Model 64 (PCI)
The computer is treating the new card as my primary driver, so my nice monior (compaq v75) is hooked to that, and my ghetto monitor (dell 3550) is hooked to the intel chipset.
I don't believe this is related to ultraMon, as the lockups still occur when I am not running ultraMon. By the way, I love the ultraMon program!

also, i forgot to say that the lockups almost always occur when i click on a link. this happens both in explorer (links) and windows (for example, a start button shortcut). most times, the computer will sit locked for about 30 seconds, and then reboot itself.

Just had another crash. This time it occured the moment someone sent me an IM on AIM. just some more details...

Other than the usual plethora of troubleshooting tips I've posted here before, I'd recommend upgrading to Windows 2000, or even XP.

I wouldn't recomend 2k or XP on a machine that slow.

I run Win2K on a machine that slow, though I do have 512.Meg RAM, and a fast hard drive (120.Gig/7,200 RPM/8.Meg cache). It runs as fast as Win98 did, and it never crashes.
