Trying the version 2.4.21.0 DEMO on Windows XP.
In display settings : When placing the 2nd monitor on the lefthand side of the 1st monitor Ultramon crashes both wallpapers.
The monitors are running different resolutions.
Is there any solution? will this bug get fixed any time soon?

Does the wallpaper no longer look correct after changing display settings?
Make sure automatic adjustment of wallpapers is enabled: UltraMon menu > Wallpaper > Options, 'adjust wallpaper when display configuration changes'.
This works fine on my system, after moving the secondary monitor to a different position (to the left, right, or above the primary), the wallpaper gets adjusted correctly. I used a wallpaper with a different image on each monitor for testing.

I am getting a somewhat similar problem. I have a dual setup where Monitor 2 is to the left of Monitor 1. I can set each monitor to have its own wallpaper just fine, but when I lock the computer (or if a screensaver does it for me), the wallpaper images are horizontally scrolled about 60% - monitor 1's paper will be on monitor 2 and vice versa, except they're off center and out of place, spilling over to the correct monitor since they both run two different resolutions. When I unlock the computer they shift back to normal without a problem. I think it may have something to do with Windows positioning the login prompt so that it doesn't get hidden off-screen by accident.
If I configure my Display settings to put monitor 2 on the right of monitor 1 (which doesn't coincide with my physical setup), then when I lock the computer, nothing messes up. Only thing I can think to do right now is physically switch my monitors around, but with the cable lengths I've got to work with, that'll be a pain.

did you try doing what Christian suggested in the ealier post, ie:
Make sure automatic adjustment of wallpapers is enabled: UltraMon menu > Wallpaper > Options, 'adjust wallpaper when display configuration changes'.
i run a similiar setup on one of my home machines -- #2 is to the left of #1...don't recall ever having a problem with the wallpaper positioning. only difference between mine's and yours is that both displays are the same resolution. i'll try setting #2 to a lower resolution and manually locking the console to see if i can reproduce your problem.
in the meantime, dbl-check your ultramon settings as per above.

The options "adjust wallpaper when display configuration changes" and "don't adjust the wallpaper when... 256 colors" are both checked in my setup.

just tested this now and no problem with wallpaper when #2 is set to lower resolution; my machine specs are w2k with a matrox agp g400.
are you running both displays off a single video card or are you using two cards?

Off a single card, an ATI Radeon 9600. Left monitor's at 1280x1024, right (primary) is at 1600x1200

try using a different ati driver.
this sounds more like a os/software interaction problem with the installed drivers.
you might also want to check if there are any bios updates for both your card & the mobo.

Most likely Active Desktop is enabled, in this case the wallpaper generated by UltraMon will look wrong when you are at the logon desktop.
The Active Desktop gets enabled when you have added desktop items, or when icons are hidden.

Christian brings up a good point about checking the Active Desktop setting.
which is why i always have it disabled on all my machines. it does tend to do some strange things... :-)

Yeah, unhiding the icons did the trick. But I liked them hidden so it looked cleaner. :(
To access things on the Desktop I keep a toolbar in the start menu like Quick Launch, but instead it points to the Desktop folder, so it is an unfolding menu with all the desktop items that takes up little screen space. Oh well. I guess I'll either have to unhide the icons or live with the breakage. Thanks for the assistance.

Try using Winwall to hide your icons. Works beautifully for me.
