hi, i have got the ATI Radeon 9100 for about9 months, only until recently when school works requires me to use dual monitor. I realised the 9100 actually supports dual individual display.

I then bought a DVI-I to VGA adaptor, however it dosent seems to be able to read the CRT. thinking that the adaptor is fualty i exchanged it for another new one, plug it in, still unable to read the CRT monitor. I checked the 9100 packaging box and there it says DVI-D.

Question:
1)Is the Radeon 9100 working on DVI-I or DVI-D?
2)How do I know if the card have read my 2nd monitor? The monitor keeps showing "no connection"

Hope to get some advices from you guys .... thanks

DVI-D doesn't have analog (CRT) capabilities, so the adapter won't help.

thanks for ur reply. yes DVI-D doesn't have analog (CRT) capabilities, however the one on my 9100 is a DVI-I. Might i ask, when the 2nd monitor is plugged in, dose the card automatically reads the monitor? My lecturer say it might be a power supply problem.

I thought the box said DVI-D.

yup that's what im puzzled too, the box says DVI-D however the one i have on my 9100 is a DVI-I 24 on the right and a + on the left ... DVI-D is 24 and a T if im not wrong.

I don't think it matters what the connector looks like. It matters what pins are active, and I suspect the analog pins are not active, and therefore, it is a DVI-D.

R200 (Radeon 9100) doesen't have 2 RAMDACs. So, buy cheap PCI card.
