Forums -> Multiple monitors -> Inaccesible windows when back to 1-window

I have discovered what appears to be a bug in using multiple monitors in
WinXP Pro. I can use my laptop's (Comaq Evo N600) LCD panel and an external monitor in a 2-monitor extended-desktop arrangement. The problem
is, when I go back to using one monitor, some windows do not snap back to the main monitor... it's as if they are appearing on the now-non-existent 2nd monitor and there's no way that I can get the windows back unless I hook up the 2nd monitor and drag the window back to the default monitor...
I was quite annoyed when I first discovered it on a business trip - only havig the laptop available and no way of getting to the windows that would normally appear on my screen in office.
Anyone has a better idea how to get these 'hidden' windows back?

Maybe you could ALT-TAB to the app window, and go full-screen (ALT+SpaceBar, then X) and hope it goes to the main monitor. Or if you know which direction it needs to be moved, use ALT+SpaceBar again then M (for Move), then use the arrow keys to move it in the correct direction bac to the main monitor.

You can experiment first on the visible windows to get an idea of how it works.

Please let us know if any of these work.
