I am running Ultramon with 3 monitors. Monitor 1 and Monitor 2 is run as a duel head each fed by its own grahpics board. Monitor 3 is a mirror of Monitor 1 and is run from the secondary output of the primary graphics board.

The problem is that Monitor 3 locks up when you selet shutdown windows from the task bar, the other monitors are still working at this point.

Thanks

Do you mean that the monitor no longer accepts input or gets refreshed when the shutdown dialog box (with the restart, shutdown etc. options) is open?

This is normal Windows behavior (I tested on Windows 2000 and XP).

BTW, are you using UltraMon mirroring to mirror monitor 1 on monitor 3, or the video card's clone mode?

Hello,

You select shutdown computer on the start menu.

The dialog box comes up with the 3 choices.

You then select shutdown computer.

It is at this point that it locks up only on monitor 3 which is mirroring monitor 1.

Monitor 1 is still working and you can select shutdown on this monitor normally

This is under Xp

On my XP system the shutdown dialog only gets shown on the primary monitor (monitor 1), not on the mirror (monitor 3).

You would need to shut down the computer via the primary monitor. The only workaround would be to use hardware mirroring (video card's clone mode or VGA splitter), this way you would get the shutdown dialog on both monitors.
