is the matrox p series video cards the only ones that can properly do dual hardware overlay in windows?
or is there other video cards that can do this too?
in particular, are there any low-end workstation level video card that have this feature, ie. nvidia quadro4, or wildcat vp series?

all nvidia cards support hardware overlays in xp
i run 6 tft's on
radeon 9800 pro 128meg 256bit
geforce fx5200 pci 128bit 128meg
geforce fx5200 pci 128bit 128meg
all use overlay properly
and display dvd's and such fine
