I have had a problem with my secondary monitor flickering while using UltraMon. Happens about 1-2 times per week on average. I will just be on the desktop and the secondary monitor will flicker off and then flicker back on again just once. I have dual refurbished Dell trinitron monitors, so perhaps it is an issue with the monitor itself. I am using a ATI Radeon 9800PRO 256MB card. Has anyone had this problem using UltraMon? Thanks!

Probably a monitor or video card/driver issue, seems unlikely that this would be caused by UltraMon.
If you are using UltraMon display profiles, you could check if a low refresh rate is selected for the secondary monitor in one of the profiles, anything below 75 Hz will probably result in flickering.

Thanks for the reply. I have my monitors both set to 75 Hz. It isnt a refresh rate flickering, it is a quick on and off that occurs only once, not multiple times in a row.

Mine is doing this now. But my primary monitor flickers, I run a tft and a crt.. so i tried switching the 2 so that the primary became the secondary etc.. yet the primary still flickered when it was a different monitor... as if it had no signal to it then reapeared after a few secs!!
Has anyone any ideas?

Both my lcd and my CRT flick off an back on briefly, maybe once every other day or so, maybe more often. It almost definitely a hardware issue. Either deal with it, or buy another video card. (and I'm not guananteeing that will even fix it)

I also have had this problem. I've been banging my head to figure this out. I've updated my video drivers, I tried different cables. Nothing helped. I decided to turn Ultramon off and as long as it is not running the 2nd monitor runs fine. As soon as I start Ultramon back up my 2nd monitor will flicker off. It isn't just a quick off and on either. It goes off and stays off for a minute or two at a time.

Okay, quick follow up on my last post. This doesn't appear to be a problem that is restricted to Ultramon. The issue does happen less with Ultramon turned off, but the problem still happens. It is the weirdest darn thing. It only goes off when I start moving open windows over to the monitor. When I move the open window back to the other monitor it comes back on and stays on until I try to move open windows back.
In my case this is not an issue with Ultramon.

Sean, maybe the video card driver crashes and gets restarted, this could cause the behavior you're seeing. Not sure what else you could do if you already installed the latest drivers.
