Windows 2000 operating system.
AGP card using ATI LT PRO chipset.
PCI card using Chips and technology 69000 chipset.

BIOS allow selection of AGP or PCI as primary display.

Problem:
No Secondary display with either ATI LT PRO or chips and tech as secondary display. System property in the control panel adds a red (X) next to the adapter.
I have also tried PCI card using Chips and Technology 69030

Any hints?

Ally,

Youre probably facing the same issue I am, which I posted in my question about gfx card recommendations. Basically, older graphics cards under Windows 2000 may not be able to work as the secondary display. Has something to do with requiring direct access to int10 in the BIOS or some such. Here's a link in a FAQ on this site:

You may need to get a newer card for your secondary display (ironic as that may seem). My problem is exacerbated greatly by the fact that I need a newer PCI-based card that offers digital flat panel output. As far as I can tell, they just don't exist!

Hope that helps... MD
