Forums -> Multiple monitors -> 3 monitors (2 external connected to laptop)

I just bought a dell inspiron 9200 laptop, it has a mobility radeon 9700, I have outputs for DVI, AGP, and S-Video. I'm wondering if I can connect a monitor each to the DVI and AGP and still use the laptop screen so I get a triple monitor display.

I have tried this and I guess the default thing it does is allow dual display across the two connected monitors but turns off the laptop screen. I have tried some fidgeting, and it seems I can only get 2 screens working at the same time, either the laptop and one monitor or both monitors and no laptop.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

My guess is that is what you are limited to, since that card can only generate 2 signals at a time.

The best you could hope for is for the laptop screen and one of the external screens to show the same thing, while the other output shows something different, but I also doubt that is possible.
