Forums -> Multiple monitors -> ATI VE Win2K problems

I got an ATI VE card and installed it on my Dell
410 workstation running Windows 2K. When I use
two monitors I have two problems. The first is
that the screen saver won't power down the second
monoitor. My other problem is that the highest
refresh rate is 60 HZ when the desktop spans both
monitors.

2048x768 max refresh rate is 60hz. However, switch to the individual monitor settings to set their refresh rates:

Properties ... Settings ... Advanced....

Multi-Monitor

Double click each monitor in turn and set the refresh rate you want. Color depth and size must still be the same for both monitors ie 1024x768 x 32 bit etc

As for the ACPI power down issue: Lucky You !
Dual monitor disables ACPI power management entirely on my setup, neither monitor shuts down.
Make sure you send a bug report to ATI on these issues. I cannot stress enough the importance of BEING HEARD at ATI !

ps ... ATI has released new drivers (beta). See my post this morning for issues relating to installing these drivers. They are much more solid than the release version on the CD.

Just another quick note:

With the new beta drivers installed, the ACPI power saving features are now functioning !
