Hi folks,
Been using multiple CRT's for a long time and looking to make the plunge into 1 or 2 LCD's. Any thoughts on two options to keep me below $600 total?
1) One 20" Widescreen (Dell 2005FPW 1680x1050) 2) Two 17" FS (Unknown vendor, 1280x1024 each)
Obviously #2 gives me the most real estate, but at Circuit City I looked at some 17" LCD's running 1280x1024 and the text looked really tiny.
For the sex factor I like the Widescreen, but I'm afraid that 1050 horizontally is way too little compared to the 2560 I get with two 17".
Anybody come across the same quandry, and your experiences?

My preference would be a pair of 19" LCD's: Same resolution as the 17's, but everything is larger, though it's about $350x2 for a pair of Dell Analogs, or $450x2 for Dell Digitals. But then again, it all depends on personal preference, and what you use the monitors for.

Also, unless you use the 20" monitor in portrait mode, it is 1680 horizontal, and 1050 vertical, so it's 1680x1050 vs 2560x1024.

I definitely agree that two 19" would be the way to go... but I took the plunge and got the 2005FPW, and must say that I'm very pleased!
However, I am thinking about getting a 17" LCD to put next to it, since they are the same height it would be a good match.
