I have installed a matrox g450 card that runs 2 monitors, I wand to use the old monitor port so I can have 3. When I put a monitor on this port it says not connected on the screen. I have looked in system and all it shows is the matrox card. Is there a way to make this port live again to extend my desktop to 3

Have you tried to connect only one monitor to your old monitor port (with the matrox card taken out of the machine) -and afterwards install the matrox "on top" of that?
